The Centre for Energy and Environmental Technologies (CEET) at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava is a university research institute dedicated to interdisciplinary research and development in the fields of low-carbon and sustainable energy systems and environmental technologies.
CEET’s research activities are focused on four interconnected pillars:
- Materials for energy and environmental technologies
- Utilisation of secondary raw materials and alternative energy sources
- Energy storage, transformation, and management
- Environmental aspects and technologies
In the context of hydrogen energy, our research encompasses technologies for the storage, handling, and application of hydrogen as a means of grid stabilisation for renewable energy sources. This also includes the integration of hydrogen technologies with digital tools to create highly efficient energy systems.
CEET actively participates in research projects with both regional and international impact. Our approach to hydrogen technologies seamlessly integrates the principles of the circular economy with a unique combination of material, technological, and systemic expertise. Key examples of our work include the development of hydrogen storage solutions at ambient conditions and collaboration on projects linking hydrogen, digitalisation, and smart energy grids.
